Terms of Service
Last updated: 1 September 2026 · Signately Ltd, company no. 17430602, registered in England & Wales at Suite A, 82 James Carter Road, Mildenhall, IP28 7DE ("Signately", "we", "us").
1. About these terms
These Terms of Service govern your purchase and use of digital certificates and related services supplied by Signately. By placing an order with us, you agree to these terms. If you are entering into these terms on behalf of a business, you confirm you are authorised to do so.
2. What we provide
Signately is an independent reseller of digital certificates. The certificates we supply are issued by third-party Certificate Authorities ("CAs") such as DigiCert and Sectigo, and are sourced through authorised distributors. We are not ourselves a Certificate Authority. Each certificate is subject to the issuing CA's own subscriber agreement and certificate policy, which you agree to comply with in addition to these terms.
3. Orders and issuance
An order is an offer to purchase. Your order is only fulfilled once the issuing CA completes its validation and issues the certificate. Certificate issuance depends on the CA's validation process, which is outside our control. We cannot guarantee that any certificate will be issued, and issuance times vary — particularly for Organization Validated (OV), Extended Validation (EV), code signing, and document signing products, which require identity checks.
4. Your responsibilities
You are responsible for: providing accurate and complete information; responding promptly to validation requests; demonstrating control of the relevant domain(s) or organisation identity; generating and securely storing your private keys and any hardware tokens; and using certificates lawfully and in accordance with the CA's terms. Signately never has access to and is not responsible for the security of your private keys.
5. Pricing and payment
Prices are as displayed or quoted at the time of order and are exclusive of VAT unless stated otherwise. Payment is due in full before an order is submitted to the CA, unless we have agreed otherwise in writing. We reserve the right to correct pricing errors.
6. Renewals and renewal reminders
Certificates have fixed validity periods and must be renewed to remain valid. As a service, we may send you reminders ahead of expiry as a courtesy. These reminders are provided on a reasonable-efforts basis and do not transfer responsibility to us: it remains your responsibility to renew your certificates and to maintain their validity. We are not liable for any lapse, expiry, or resulting disruption.
7. Warranties
Any warranty attaching to a certificate is the warranty provided by the issuing CA and is passed through to you on the CA's terms. Except as expressly stated, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, Signately makes no additional warranties and excludes all implied terms.
8. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under law. Subject to that, Signately is not liable for indirect, consequential, or economic loss, loss of profit, data, or business, or for service outages, security incidents, or losses arising from the acts or omissions of a CA, distributor, or other third party. Our total aggregate liability arising out of any order is limited to the amount you paid to us for the product giving rise to the claim.
9. Third-party dependencies
Our service depends on third-party CAs and distributors. Their availability, decisions, and terms are outside our control, and we are not responsible for their acts or omissions.
10. Termination
We may suspend or decline service where an order breaches these terms, a CA's terms, or applicable law, or where we reasonably suspect fraud or misuse.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
12. Changes and contact
We may update these terms from time to time; the version in force at the time of your order applies. Questions about these terms: hello@signately.co.uk.

Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 September 2026 · Data controller: Signately Ltd, company no. 17430602, Suite A, 82 James Carter Road, Mildenhall, IP28 7DE. ICO registration reference: 00015347829.
1. Introduction
This policy explains how Signately collects, uses, and protects personal data in line with UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018). It applies to our website and to our supply of digital certificates.
2. What we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect: your name, business name, job role, email address, and phone number; organisation details and identity documents required for certificate validation; domain and technical details relating to your order; correspondence with us; and payment-related information (processed by our payment provider — we do not store full card details). We may also collect basic website usage data.
3. Why we use it and our lawful basis
We use personal data to: fulfil your order and submit it for validation and issuance (lawful basis: performance of a contract); meet legal and regulatory obligations (legal obligation); operate, secure, and improve our service and communicate about orders and renewals (legitimate interests); and send marketing only where you have agreed (consent, which you may withdraw at any time).
4. Who we share it with
To issue a certificate, we must share the relevant order and validation data with the issuing Certificate Authority (such as DigiCert or Sectigo) and our authorised distributor, who process it to validate and issue your certificate under their own privacy terms. We also use trusted service providers for payment processing, hosting, and email. We do not sell your personal data.
5. International transfers
Some CAs and providers are based outside the UK, including in the United States. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as UK adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses / the UK International Data Transfer Agreement.
6. How long we keep it
We retain personal data for as long as needed to provide the service, to meet legal, accounting, and tax obligations, and to handle any disputes. Validation records may be retained in line with CA requirements.
7. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access, correct, or erase your personal data, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any right, contact hello@signately.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
8. Cookies
Our website uses only the cookies necessary for it to function, to make the site work. We will update this policy if we add analytics or other cookies.

Refund & Cancellation Policy
Last updated: 1 September 2026 · Signately Ltd (17430602). Our refund terms reflect those of the issuing Certificate Authorities and our distributor, and cannot exceed them.
1. Nature of the products
Digital certificates are provisioned through third-party Certificate Authorities. Because our ability to refund depends on the refund terms the CA and our distributor allow us, our refund policy reflects and cannot exceed those upstream terms.
2. Refund window
Many TLS/SSL certificates may be refunded if cancelled within a limited period after purchase — commonly around 30 days. Once a certificate has been issued and validation completed, refunds may be reduced or unavailable. Certain products — including code signing, EV, document signing, and Verified Mark Certificates — may have shorter windows or be non-refundable once processing or issuance has begun, because validation costs are incurred upfront.
3. How to request a refund
To request cancellation or a refund, contact us at hello@signately.co.uk with your order details. We will confirm whether the request falls within the applicable window and process eligible refunds to your original payment method.
4. Renewals
A renewal is a new certificate purchase and is subject to the same terms. You may decline or cancel a renewal before it is submitted for issuance. Once a renewal certificate is issued, the refund terms in section 2 apply.
5. Non-refundable circumstances
Refunds are not available where a certificate has been issued and is in use beyond the applicable window, where validation has been completed for identity-checked products, or where an order breaches these terms, the CA's terms, or applicable law.
6. Your statutory rights
Where you are a consumer, you may have cancellation rights under the Consumer Contracts Regulations. For digital services that begin with your express consent, the right to cancel may be lost once performance has started. Nothing in this policy affects your non-excludable statutory rights.
